Course Description (2 LU|HSW)
The energy code intent is to regulate the design and construction of buildings for the effective use and conservation of energy over the useful life of each building. Various agencies were created to develop energy efficient pathways in both residential and commercial structures. Various Energy Conservation regulations, both at Federal and State levels, mandate energy conservation and usage to produce cost savings, use less energy as a whole and create some level of energy independence. There have been significant changes from the previous 2018 Energy Code requirements to the 2021 Edition. This seminar will discuss why energy conservation is required, review a few definitions, identify the application methods, review REScheck program do’s/don’ts, identify the systems used for energy compliance, and identify the analysis compliance alternatives.
