5:30pm | Networking

5:40pm | BIM: Staying Competitive within the Digital Landscape

Overview

In today’s building design industry, more owners are requiring BIM technology to be used to execute projects, plan and coordinate construction, and extract data for ongoing facilities management. In order to stay competitive, Architects will need to fully embrace the use of BIM software and introduce more non-traditional roles into their practice to execute new job functions that now exist due to the rise of the information age in our industry.

This presentation addresses the reasons why the AEC is making this shift to BIM, the new skillsets that are needed to compete, the type of talent you’ll need to include within your project teams, and the financial benefits of transitioning your office to using BIM software.

Learning Objectives:

How architects can grow to play a more integrated role within the full lifecycle of a building project

How to leverage BIM technology to stay competitive within the new digital landscape

Learn what new skillsets are needed to succeed on a project using BIM software

Learn tips on how to succeed on BIM projects with the introduction of new non-traditional roles

This course has been approved for 1 AIA CEU.

6:40pm | Demystifying Fellowship

Overview

A mission of the AIANJ Fellowship Committee is to identify and encourage members to consider AIA Fellowship. Fellowship is one of the highest honors that AIA bestows on an individual member who has made significant contributions to the profession and society and exemplify architectural excellence.  This brief presentation and Q&A is being offered to our section to raise awareness about fellowship and provide information to members considering the 2022 AIA Fellowship cycle which opens June 29 and closes October 5, 2021.
