5:40-6:40pm | Air Mobility – The Future of Vertical Flight and Aerial Transportation
With an ever-increasing growth of population, particularly in urban centers, the need to relieve transportation congestion, improve travel times, lessen airborne pollution, and contribute to a better quality of life for the inhabitants, has been met by a disruptive transportation enterprise employing electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. These new aerial vehicles were originally designed to take up to four passengers and a pilot across the city to a network of skyports (called Vertiports in Air Mobility) optimally located based on demand, ease of access, and ideally in coordination with existing ground transportation centers.
Currently, the idea has expanded beyond passenger transport to include freight, medical staff, equipment and organ transport, patrol, law enforcement, observation, news, educational, scientific and other use cases. This expansion of utilization is referred to as Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Both UAM and AAM aerial services will operate under new airspace and air traffic control rules being developed by NASA, together with the regulatory framework being developed by the FAA for this new type of controlled flight, pilot training, aircraft certification, Vertiport standards, and other regulation yet to come.
This webinar is FREE for all participants. When you register, please include your AIA number in the Special Instructions field if applicable. This course has been approved for 1 AIA CEU.
