Join us on Monday, September 28, for a guided tour of Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, led by Mills + Schnoering Architects.

Originally constructed in 1836, Nassau Presbyterian Church is a Greek Revival landmark and a contributing structure within the National Register-listed Princeton Historic District. As the needs of worship, education, fellowship, and community outreach evolved over time, the church undertook a comprehensive master planning and renovation effort to better support its mission while respecting the building's historic character.

This tour will explore the planning, restoration, renovation, and expansion of the church over multiple phases. Participants will learn how existing spaces were adapted for new uses, how accessibility improvements and new public amenities were incorporated, and how major gathering spaces were renewed.

Parking and Access

Please note there is no parking on-site, so street parking will be needed. The tour will enter through the main entrance of the church, and an accessible entrance will also be available.

Tour Presenters

Jennifer Arnoldi, AIA is a Partner with Mills + Schnoering Architects specializing in the rehabilitation of both historic and contemporary buildings. With a strong background in architecture and design, she is skilled in building diagnostics, restoration planning, and historic documentation, including National Register of Historic Places nominations and Federal Tax Credit projects.

Alison Baxter, AIA is a retired architect from Mills + Schnoering Architects with an extensive portfolio of work in project management, programming, master planning, and space planning on a wide variety of building types with a particular emphasis on educational and institutional projects. A comprehensive renovation of Hill College House at the University of Pennsylvania, numerous projects at Princeton University, and master planning and renovations for cultural entities such as the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO have been led by Alison. At Nassau Presbyterian Church, she was the project manager for the master plan, rooftop additions, and interior renovations. Ms. Baxter is currently chair of the Hopewell Historic Preservation Commission.

Amy Mladjen, IIDA is a Partner with Mills + Schnoering Architects and leads their interior design practice. She manages projects through all phases of design and construction and guides the treatment of interior architecture for cultural, civic and institutional projects. Her specialized knowledge is applied to the planning and design of interior environments that effectively accommodate the building program while supporting and enhancing the human experience. She has expertise in designing within historic contexts, is committed to solutions that are beautiful and functional, and is adept at planning projects to best serve end users.
