AIA CNJ and AIA NJ Women in Architecture Committee Announces Participation in 2025 Women’s Leadership Summit

AIA Central and AIA New Jersey Women in Architecture (WIA) Committee are honored to announce their participation in the 2025 AIA Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS), taking place from November 3–5, 2025, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia. This premier event, organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), serves as the AEC industry’s largest gathering dedicated to accelerating women into leadership positions within architecture, design, and the allied building industries.

WLS 2025 promises three days of dynamic programming, featuring renowned speakers, trailblazing leaders, and industry experts. Attendees will engage in high-impact sessions focused on networking, education, community, and inspiration—all aimed at fostering gender equity and transforming workplace experiences for women in AEC.

As part of our commitment to advancing architecture for all concerned, we are proud to have our leaders contributing to discussions and initiatives that promote equitable visibility and mentorship in the profession. This involvement underscores our dedication to supporting and empowering the profession through the energy of a diverse membership across New Jersey and beyond.

Meet Our Leaders:

  • Tania Althoff, AIA, LEED AP – 2025 President, AIA Central New Jersey
    Tania Althoff is a project manager for design and construction in the Office of Capital Projects. She was elected as the 2025 President of the Central New Jersey section of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). In this role, she leads initiatives to advance the architectural profession and foster a supportive community for architects in the region.
  • Erin Sharp-Newton, M. Arch. – 2024 President, AIA Central New Jersey
    Erin Sharp-Newton is a recognized advocate in the fields of architecture and urban design. She served as the 2024 President for the American Institute of Architects Central New Jersey.  Her leadership focused on promoting human-centered design practices and enhancing the role of architects in shaping resilient communities through engagement.
  • Elina Shchervinsky, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP – 2023 President, AIA Central New Jersey
    Elina Shchervinsky is a forensic architect with over 30 years of professional experience. She served as the 2023 President of the Central New Jersey Section of the American Institute of Architects. Her tenure emphasized the importance of mentorship and the advancement of the architectural profession through visibility and presence.
