A Memorable Afternoon at the new Princeton University Art Museum

On December 10, we had the privilege of an exclusive private tour of the Museum’s new home, designed by Adjaye Associates in collaboration with Cooper Robertson. Led by Museum Director James Steward, the tour offered rare insight into how the building redefines the contemporary university museum—architecturally, socially, and civically.
From its interlocking pavilions and artwalks to its permeable façades, the project thoughtfully blurs the boundaries between campus and community, historic and contemporary, public and private. The discussion highlighted how design decisions support health, safety, and welfare, while advancing accessibility, environmental stewardship, and inclusive cultural engagement.
Thank you to James Steward for sharing his perspective on the museum’s evolving role as a global hub for art, scholarship, and public life—and to everyone who joined us for this sold-out experience.
