About the Project
Completed in 2013, the renovation of Madison Square Garden brought the fifty-year-old arena squarely into the 21st century. Also known as MSG, the Garden, and “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” it now provides a modern experience for today’s sports and entertainment fans.

The Challenge
Lead architect Murray Beynon of BBB Architects faced a demanding task: modernize the arena while keeping it within the constraints of the existing structure and delivering the amenities expected by contemporary audiences.

The Solution
Construction Specialties (CS) supplied custom curved Storm-Resistant Vertical Louvers designed to fit precisely within the fluted exterior alcoves. The tight radii and specially shaped corner louvers—mounted in precast panels—required close coordination and additional engineering with both the steel and precast teams to ensure a perfect fit. To simplify logistics, the louvers were shipped ahead of schedule to the customer’s Long Island facility, allowing for phased delivery to the Manhattan job site. CS is proud to have its products featured on one of the most iconic arenas in the world.
