2024 President's Letter

Dear AIA Central NJ Members,
Happy New Year! As your 2024 President, I thank you for the opportunity to be of service!
While 2024 marks a fresh start, I am grateful to be building on a great foundation. As an active member of the board, for many years, I have witnessed AIA Central NJ grow through our mission of “Legacy and Uplift.” We function in a grass-roots manner: One member helping another. In my tenure, AIA CNJ has consistently represented a culture of mentorship, passion for the profession, and human kindness. My goal as your 2024 President is to continue that legacy as your advocate.
2023 was a wonderful year for our section under the leadership of Elina Shchervinsky, AIA, as well as the support of the Executive Committee, and expanding Trustees. We elected Tania Althoff, AIA as President-Elect and made the decision to hire a new Section Director, Robert Epstein, who will work with us to ensure we provide you with the best resources and support you need. Quality events, digital communications, social media, website, etc., were advanced to a new level. As we move forward to the future, we will use our digital communications platforms to promote our profession and its value.
As we prepare for the future, we have a full agenda outlined from our planning session. We will persist in building on our initiatives, engaging members with new committees, educational events, inspirational speakers, news, spotlights, and opportunities to engage with the AIA State Chapter and AIA National, to make sure our voice is heard.
Recent years prove that our society and the profession are evolving. In a diverse professional culture, we are empowered by individuality, innovation, as well as unity and service. Our charge is to be driven by the principles of ethics and integrity, so that we may transform into a more inclusive, thriving professional society.
We welcome you to come and join us. Come to our events. Attend our monthly meetings. Take a seat with us. Engage with our news and updates. Meet our Board and Trustees. Tell us about who you are, and how we can better help you!
On February 21st we will have our in-person installation dinner, with a dynamic speaker. Please join us!
